When you became saved the Holy Spirit comes to live inside of you.
Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are Gods possession–to the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:13b-14
If you have been a Christian for a long time you may be like me and take for granted that the Holy Spirit lives inside of you. It’s easy to grow casual with this fact. But I want to remind you of the potential your life has to change! Daily talk to the Holy Spirit as a person. Include Him in your plans. Ask His advice of everything. As you do you will find two amazing things happening – inwardly and outwardly:
First, Inward Confidence Grows.
Inwardly the Holy Spirit starts to show you how much the Father loves and values you. As the teacher he shows you the plans the Father has for you. This turns into an inward confidence. If the Father loves and hopes for you then it gives us liberty to hope too.
And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. Romans 5:5
Second, Outwardly You Change Things Around You.
As you read the scriptures you come to realize the Holy Spirit is inside of you for you and wants to move through you for the world. It was the presence of the Lord that gave the first century church its dynamic authority to impact the world with the gospel. It is the same today for the apostolic church. As you walk with the Holy Spirit you realize Jesus was the model of how to live in the world.
Jesus was the pattern of how to live in the world with the Holy Spirit.
Jesus took the great truths of God and showed us how to walk practically in them.
Anything you see Jesus doing in the Scriptures is legal and expected of you.
Jesus thinks you can do these things too:
These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed. Mark 16:17-18 (NLT)
This week meditate on these 2 things – He gives us inward confidence and outward victory. Meditate on them to see your life be changed by His presence.
