I Am Good at Setting Things on Fire!

I am good at setting things on fire with my mouth. Sometimes I think I am a professional!

A word out of your mouth may seem of no account, but it can accomplish nearly anything– or destroy it! It only takes a spark, remember, to set off a forest fire. James 3:5 (The Message)

I have listed below a set of questions, which helps me from setting on fire my forest of relationships. I share it with you in case you need it. It is a three questions to ask yourself before you say anything. If you can’t answer yes to all three then you might want to think about not saying it. I got these questions over 2 decades ago from a source that I can’t remember. I added the verses though. They have saved me from being a fire breather many times. Let me know if these questions work for you.

Three Question Test for Speaking

1. Is it true?

Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old evil nature and all its wicked deeds. Colossians 3:9 (NLT)

2. Is it kind?

Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32 (NLT

3. Is it necessary?
