How To Walk With the Holy Spirit – Move Like the Wind

The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit. John 3:8

This verse describes what life is like when we are led by the Holy Spirit. He will often speak to you from a direction you did not expect and say something that you don’t know where it will lead.

because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. Romans 8:14

A sign that we are sons of God is we are led by the Spirit of God – who often acts like the wind. But do you like being led by the wind? It’s not predictable. One day it is nonexistent and the next it is blowing too hard. This perfectly describes walking with the Holy Spirit.

I want to know what is next! I want to know why, what, when, and where.

Good luck with that when you walk with the Holy Spirit. Sometimes He tells you what is next and sometimes He doesn’t. When He doesn’t you will eventually know why, what, when, and where but not till you have done what and been to where as He leads.

Being led by the Holy Spirit is often like a kite bouncing high over the air currents. Why is this so? I don’t know. But it is much easier if we match our pace to His. Ask Him to help you enjoy being a kite riding His wind currents. You will have more fun and it is definitely better than being a stick on the ground asking, “What is that crazy kite doing up there. Doesn’t he know better than to do that?” No, but your view will be much better than his.

Time to go fly a kite.
