Have you ever noticed no other major religion sings like Christianity? Christianity is full of joy and musical diversity you cannot find in any other religious service. It’s awesome!
Sing to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day. 1 Chronicles 16:23
When you become a Christian it sets you up to walk in a level of joy and enthusiasm like no other belief system. Singing expresses this lifestyle.
Sing to God, sing praise to his name, extol him who rides on the clouds – his name is the Lord – and rejoice before him. Psalms 68:4
Our services don’t just have one style of singing either. It all shows the creativity and vitality of our God. The range of styles is amazing. In a range of Churches you will hear hymns being sung all the way to hip-hop. An entire industry of music labels have been raised up and established to bring new music.
Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. 19 Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:18-19
If you have only experienced a Christian service you will not realize how unique singing is to Christianity. Music is a central part of the Christian religion in our lives and in our services. It sets us apart as unique. It reflects the hope, enthusiasm, and freedom that is in Christianity.
Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with tambourine and harp. Psalms 149:3
At your next Christian service sing your heart out because it is one of the things that makes Christianity unique.
