What color do you think I am? Red? Green? Yellow? Jello has to have a color.
I feel like jello this week, I just haven’t decided which color.
Have you ever noticed that when you carry a plate of jello it shakes? It’s fun to watch isn’t it? Unless you are the jello. I know because I have been shaking all week. And it’s not fun to shake.
Shaking with all kinds of questions. Will my kids turn out all right? How can I save money? How will I afford to retire? How can I get our church to grow? I think my car’s transmission is breaking and what will I do then?
“Don’t ever worry and say, ‘What are we going to eat?’ or ‘What are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we going to wear?’ Everyone is concerned about these things, and your heavenly Father certainly knows you need all of them. Matthew 6:31-32
Are you kidding? Don’t shake? How do I not worry about tomorrow? I wake up in the middle of the night with cold sweats! I even look like jello around the middle. Unfortunately, I don’t have lines on my stomach that normally come from a gelatin mold. That would be a plus.
I think my color is a murkish brown – yuck.
But first, be concerned about his kingdom and what has his approval. Then all these things will be provided for you. Matthew 6:33
How do I do this?
I’m not really sure but it’s 3:30 am and I would really like to go back to bed. I start praying: “Father, I remind myself that you will not abandon me. Thank you that you have my best interests at heart. Thank you that every bill will be paid and I will live fine in retirement! Thank you that my kids are your kids first. Thank you that you are trustworthy. Finally, thank you that I have your approval.”
I think my color is turning clear. That must be a good sign.
