John 21: 3-6 (NIV) “I’m going out to fish,” Simon Peter told them, and they said, “We’ll go with you.” So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus. He called out to them, “Friends, haven’t you any fish?”
“No,” they answered.
He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.
The disciples went from Zero fish to Abundant fish in one moment. This story encourages me. There are areas in my life that are at abundance and there are areas that are at zero or close to it. I often grow discouraged with the later cases. I grow discouraged because I have tried many things to bring my area of zeroness to more and nothing is happening.
Have you experienced this?
This story encourages me, because as I walk closely with Jesus and listen to his voice then in a supernatural moment I can go from Zero to Abundance just like Peter and his friends. If I don’t quit He will tell me which is the right side to fish for my catch.
So if you are walking all night just like Peter and are defeated, you may be giving up hope on your circumstances. That is understandable, but don’t give up hope on Jesus appearing and changing your circumstances! It can and will happen as we walk faithfully next to him. It can even happen overnight.
One word of advice. If you want an abundance of real fish I heard that Sears is having a sale on freezers. You had better hurry and buy you a few!
