The Holy Spirit brings 2 broad categories of things to help us live the Christian life – 9 fruits (Galatians 5:22-23) and 9 gifts ( 1 Corinthians 12:10 ).

9 Fruits : Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self-Control

9 Gifts : Prophecy, Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge, Tongues, Interpretation of Tongues, Discernment, Faith, Miracles, Healing

The Holy Spirit is fashioning our character to look like the 9 fruits. He uses the 9 gifts as transformations aids to get us there. Don’t let people say we don’t need the gifts. Without the power of God, and these 9 gifts are one part of it, we will have a hard time becoming changed.

Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” John 4:23-24 (NIV 1984)

Ask continually to be changed into His fruits with His gifts helping!
