The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10
The Devil does not like you if you are a Christian. I don’t think he likes anybody actually but he especially hates Christians because you can hurt him if you walk in God’s ways. So he sets traps to try and destroy you from doing God’s will. Here is one thing the Devil uses to try and destroy you:
Storms
The devil will bring intense circumstances into your life that looks like physical storms. Chaos, thunder, lighting, and flooding! Have you ever been just enjoying life and the next thing you know a storm has come over the horizon and your life is chaos? It may come in the area of relationships, children, finances, job, etc. Sometimes these storms of circumstances are blowing so hard you don’t think you are going to make it. They seem like the will never end!
What Do I Do?
1. Remember it’s not all about you. It’s about your calling that he wants! Remember that where the devil is attacking the hardest is the very area of your strength in God. It’s where your destiny is! He is trying to stop your anointing in that area before it gets him!
2. Button down the hatches and hang on, you will ride through it. God will be faithful.
3. Get rid of non-essentials – throw over emotional baggage and physical baggage that the Lord shows you to get rid of. Storms can be a useful time of purging so you can become light and run with new purpose when the storm passes.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Hebrews 12:1 (NIV)
You have a purpose to fulfill! Keep your eyes on Jesus and you will come out of it in a better position to win!
Sure does help to be reminded sometimes. Thanks Lord for this word!
