Things the Devil Uses to Destroy People – Wear You Out

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10

The Devil does not like you if you are a Christian. I don’t think he likes anybody but he especially hates Christians because you can hurt him if you walk in God’s ways. So he sets traps to try and destroy you from doing God’s will. Here is one thing the Devil uses to try and destroy you:

Wear You Out!

The devil tries to wear you out with the cares of the world. When you get tired you get dry. The dryness I am talking about is not being able to hear from God, He seems far away, and it has become a chore to be a Christian.

And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High.. Daniel 7:25a

Sometimes it is not one big thing coming against you but 1000 little things. What he is trying to do is to sap or drain off the life of God inside of you so that you become defeated.  It’s like death from a thousand mosquito bites. If you are this way, you usually don’t have to change major things in your life. Just change a few little things that need to be done.

What Do I Do?

Spend Time in His Presence! It’s this simple. One moment with Him can reverse a month of dryness! But I am too busy and exhausted to do this. I understand but you have to break the cycle. Rest is found in His presence!

When my skin sags and my bones get brittle, GOD is rock- firm and faithful. Look! Those who left you are falling apart! Deserters, they’ll never be heard from again. But I’m in the very presence of God–oh, how refreshing it is. Psalms 73 26-28a (The Message)

Worn Out? Stop immediately, slow down, and get in His presence. This is the very thing the Devil is trying to keep you from doing! While you are in His presence He will probably even show you some things to stop doing that are contributing to your being worn out. Wouldn’t that be nice?
