I recently saw this picture by Seth Bee in the book Be The Church.

The M.C. stands for missional community growth. This is a subject of a type of growth the book talks about. But I think the picture stands for all Christian growth.

Does Christianity lead upwards? Yes. Eventually.

Does Christianity lead to increased stability, wisdom, joy, etc? Yes. Eventually.

I think the picture says it all. There are times walking with God we feel we are going backwards, downwards, and sidewards. And we are! But we are going in a general upward direction over time!

So print out this blog and cut out the picture. Paste the picture on your refrigerator or kitchen cabinet. Look at it everyday. If you are feeling like you are going backwards, downwards, or sidewards take courage. It will not last forever! Progress can only be measured over time – lots of time! Rest assured you are going upwards.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9
