Males are as plentiful as always, but true Fathers are getting shot and killed by Western liberals and media.

“See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the LORD comes. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse.” – Malachi 4:5-6

Frankly, America is under a curse now in respect to our families. The number of divorces, out of wedlock births, and extra marital affairs are very high and growing. One of the biggest reasons is because involved fathers are diminishing and liberal media likes it that way. They don’t want Fathers with strong values who lead with integrity. Have you ever noticed how many TV shows and movies portray fathers as slow, stupid, and not needed?

We have suffered the consequences of a major family breakdown because the values our society needs for strong families come from fathers. When the role of a father is ignored and downplayed then society is cursed. The devil has planted a seed that Father’s are not needed.

Fathers, I want to tell you that your role is needed! Do not believe what our society is telling you that you are not necessary. You are the hope of this society being turned around! You are needed for stable families because God has anointed the Father to be the primary bringer of direction, blessing, and purpose.

Here are 4 responsibilities that Fathers have been created by God to provide. While mothers also provide these the primary avenue was designed by God to come through the Father.

Protect – This includes protecting your family physically but also emotionally and spiritually. God will give you the wisdom to know what can harm your family members. God will then show you how to provide the boundaries to protect our loved ones from these things.

Connect – Your family needs you to connect physically, emotionally, and spiritually with them. Children are crying out for connections with their Father! They need your attention just as much as they need their mother’s! This means sons as well as daughters. Ask God to show you the key to your children’s hearts and invest. The paybacks will be enormous.

Direct – Give direction! Fathers provide direction and thus purpose for their family. Don’t buy into the popular lie to never tell your children what is right and wrong in fear of ‘ruining’ them. Modern liberal teaching says that children should ‘find their own path’ and we shouldn’t interfere. This is nonsense. This is part of your role and don’t let anybody tell you other wise. Your family needs your wisdom and direction. God often uses the Father to show His will.

Correct – Our Society is approaching lawlessness because we are afraid to define right from wrong. In the name of ‘freedom’ we are reaping chaos. Don’t be afraid to correct. Your children, wife, and eventually society will thank you! Don’t buy into the lie that our primary job is to be your child’s best friend. You can do that after they are grown. Right now you are their trainer first!
